Il regista Radek Rychcik condurrà il workshop internazionale programmato nell’ambito delle attività didattiche dell’Accademia Mediterranea dell’Attore e che è inserito nel percorso de “La poetica della vergogna”, un progetto di Matera Capitale Europea della Cultura 2019 e co-prodotto da #reteteatro41 e Fondazione Matera-Basilicata 2019.
Al workshop parteciperanno artisti provenienti da diversi Paesi, selezionati tramite la call del progetto.
Le attività si svolgeranno a Campi Salentina (Le) nella sede AMA nell’istituto Calasanzio Cultura e Formazione, in via Cavour 7.

Chi è Radek Rychcik?
Si è laureato alla Akademia Sztuk Teatralnych (Accademia nazionale di teatro) di Cracovia. Nella stagione 2008/2009 è stato assistente di Krystian Lupa per lo spettacolo Factory2 (con cui Lupa ha preso il Premio Europa per il Teatro 2009).
Nel 2011 ha ricevuto il Premio Swinarski come miglior regista polacco della stagione 2010/2011 per lo Spettacolo “Łysek z pokładu Idy” (intraducibile) (premio più prestigioso che ci sia in Polonia per un regista)
Nel 2015 ha ricevuto il premio “Paszport Polityki” nella categoria teatro per lo spettacolo “Dziady” di Adam Mickiewicz (“Gli antenati”) (anche questo è uno dei premi più’ prestigiosi in Polonia, ma è diviso in categorie: teatro, musica contemporanea, musica classica, cinema, letteratura, danza)
Nel 2015 ha vinto il “Premio nazionale del ministro della cultura” per lo spettacolo “Grażyna” di Adam Mickiewicz (questo l’ho prodotto io a Tarnów)
Il suo spettacolo “Versus” basato su Brecht è stato presentato a Roma e al festival “Under the radar” a New York
Il suo spettacolo “Nella solitudine dei campi di cotone” di Bernard-Marie Koltes è stato in tournée in Canada, Stati Uniti, Cile

Stage director, b. 1981, comes from Działdowo, now he lives in Warsaw. He graduated from University of Warsaw (Master’s degree, Polish Language and Literature) and National Academy of Theatre Arts in Cracow (Master of Arts, Directing and Theatrical Production). He likes challenges, American pop-culture and high degree of emotions. His Bertolt Brecht play Versus. In the Jungle of the Cities produced in 2008 in Kraków Teatr Nowy was inspired by Roland Barthes’ essay on catch wrestling and was performed in boxing ring and it had been showed at Under The Rader Festival in New York (2010). The great success was “In the Solitude of Cotton Fields” by B.M. Koltès produced in The Stefan Żeromski Theatre in Kielce. Radek Rychcik’s work In the Solitude of the Cotton Fields which originally premiered in Poland in September 2009 has captured a great deal of attention as it has made the rounds at a number of festivals around the world. Starting in North America – from PICA’s Time-Based Art Festival and REDCAT in Los Angeles to On the Boards in Seattle, Under the radar New York and the PuSH Festival in Vancouver, through South America – with the prestigious Santiago a Mil Festival in Chile as well as in Asia: PAMS in Seoul and Europe – Nancy and Berlin. The performance is based on the searing text by the late French playwright and enfant terrible Bernard-Marie Koltès and backed by live music from the art-rock band The Natural Born Chillers. Flaubert’s “Madame Bovary” in his interpretation (Teatr Dramatyczny in Warszawa) was hysterically distorted opera about insatiation. In Hamlet from theatre in Kielce, recognised as the best Shakespearean performance of 2010/2011 season, narcissistic and infantile protagonist took revenge on his family not in father’s name but his own, for childhood without parental love and taming instead of up- bringing. He is laureate of many prestigious awards also Konrad’s Laurel for directing “Łysek z pokładu Idy” by Gustaw Morcinek at 13th Director’s Art Festival INTERPRETATIONS in Katowice (2011) and two pouches in this contest, from R. Talarczyk and G. Jarzyna (2014), POLITYKA Passport (2014) for “The Forefathers’ Eve” from Teatr Nowy in Poznań and individual award for directing “Grażyna” in Tarnów Theatre founded by Ministry of Culture and National Heritage “Living Classic” (2015).
